I am sure by now you thought we fell off the face of the earth! But it’s not true…the Adoption Photo Blog will be back and better than ever in just a few short days. I am renewing my commitment to share my thoughts with the five people who might still want to […]
Well, it’s been a week since I shared with you the news of Charlotte’s diagnosis and I think you’ll be happy to read my thoughts today.
First, I just want to say thank you to our family and friends. Thank you for your outpouring of love and care in so many ways. Thank you […]
I know I talk about Encores & More North Childrens Consignment Sale every time it rolls around, but trust me, its for a good reason. Well, really a few good reasons.
Reason One: My dear friend Brea and her husband Jonathan own the sale. They are honest and hardworking people and they do […]
Poor Norah would be jealous if she knew that while she was having fun at school, her little sister was getting to play with her buddy Mary Elizabeth! Don’t tell her…but here are some really cute pictures.
Charlotte’s little Ralph Lauren polo dress is from her Aunt Amanda and coincidentally so are the leggings, though […]
I’m working on Norah’s hair more and more these days. I don’t leave it down much any more because it gets really tangled and gets locs in it (a knot that has to be cut out). It also dries out really quickly when it is not styled. Its getting really long though […]
The year since we went to court to finalize your adoption has truly flown by. You have grown so much from the wide-eyed eight month old baby into a confident, adventurous and bright twenty month old little girl.
It was in the courtroom that day that the judge told us that adoption is the most […]
Norah’s hair is getting longer and it’s time for me to learn some new styles. As a transracial adoptive mama, that requires a little more effort on my part since her hair is completely different than mine.
I got some advice from an african-american mom about parting Norah’s hair into “boxes” (or square sections) and […]
Charlotte and August are only 3 days apart in age, but they are a few extra pounds apart in size! Aren’t they cute here at their first playdate?
It wore Charlotte out so much that she had to take a nap with Daddy after he got home from work.

Our adoption story was written long ago, not by us but by our Creator. His plan to adopt us into His family through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ planted seeds in our hearts that came to life in June 2007 when we welcomed Norah into our family through a domestic adoption. Though the little details of this blog may be about our adoption story, we hope our thoughts and images might inspire you to look into the bigger picture of God's plan for your life - to adopt you into His family as one of His children.
