sharing the bigger picture of our adoption story
It’s a cool story how we came to be friends with little Noah and his family! His Mom, Kim, contacted me about a Celebrating Adoption photo session for their family in honor of Noah’s little brother Josh’s adoption from Kazakhstan. But she also casually mentioned that she heard from a friend (remember Gretchen […]
Whew. It’s been a whirlwind of a day. You know the kind of day that seems like it could have been about 3 days packed into one? That was today. But in a good way.
This morning we ran errands…I needed to pick up Mary Elizabeth’s gift from the Peanut Gallery Toy […]
On Tuesday after I picked Norah up from school, we went over to Amy’s for a little while to check out her new Photoshop Elements program. While I have been using the full version of Photoshop and several other applications for a while now, I had never had any experience with PSE, and I […]
Today we’re excited for our friends Maris & Steven! They have been chosen to be the adoptive parents of a baby BOY, due to be born on Oct 2. Please join us in praying for this mother and her baby, and for Maris and Steven, as they continue on their journey together.

On our way home from Bolivar we stopped at North Park in Jackson - a huge new beautiful playground with tons of padded playground surfaces and brightly colored playground equipment. I really wish it wasn’t 100 degrees or we could have stayed and played all afternoon…however, it was pretty hot so our little ones […]
There is a time of day that photographers refer to as “sweet light,” where the sun is low in the sky (just after sunrise and just before sunset) and the light gives off a warm glow that when used correctly can help a natural light photographer produce the most glorious images. Hit the beach […]
Let me start by saying, I haven’t forgotten to announce the winner of Monday’s Giveaway! I am just waiting to announce it in a very special way. I haven’t even drawn yet. Actually, Norah is going to draw the winner - so any bribes that you intend to send her way should […]
Please visit 5 Minutes for Mom and vote for my friend Tamara’sphoto titled “Changing More Than Diapers”. This photo is brilliant and I only wish I could have been there to play in the mud too. The prize if she wins is a Wii and I am sure she’ll invite you over to […]
Last night we heard the news that little Maria, the youngest daughter of Steven Curtis Chapman, was killed after being accidentally struck by a car in her family’s driveway. Maria was five years old, and the youngest of the three children that the Chapman’s have adopted from China.
My words are inadequate to express the […]
Our adoption story was written long ago, not by us but by our Creator. His plan to adopt us into His family through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ planted seeds in our hearts that came to life in June 2007 when we welcomed Norah into our family through a domestic adoption. Though the little details of this blog may be about our adoption story, we hope our thoughts and images might inspire you to look into the bigger picture of God's plan for your life - to adopt you into His family as one of His children.
