sharing the bigger picture of our adoption story
Of course, I know it’s not officially here yet, but one afternoon of mild weather and I want to pull out my sweaters and sprinkle leaves on my fireplace mantle!
We played outside after Norah got up from her nap yesterday, because I don’t know who could resist that fresh air - it felt GREAT!
Brad got […]
I can’t believe in all my years working for the Boys & Girls Club that I never ever went to the Discovery Center. I mean, I knew it was wonderful and heard LOTS of great feedback about it every time we sent the kids there on a trip - I just never happened to […]
On Tuesday after I picked Norah up from school, we went over to Amy’s for a little while to check out her new Photoshop Elements program. While I have been using the full version of Photoshop and several other applications for a while now, I had never had any experience with PSE, and I […]
It’s been two years since my last trip to the Splash Park in Smyrna. Looking back at those pictures it amazes me to see how much Landon & Reagan have grown. (Check out Landon & Lanie’s trip to the splash park from yesterday by clicking here.)
I had planned to take Norah for a […]
“Interim Care” is one of those adoption terms that is tossed around but maybe never explained fully to those outside our world. Let me elaborate. Many times women give birth and are still undecided about placing their babies for adoption. In these cases, the baby doesn’t need to be placed with an […]
On our way home from Bolivar we stopped at North Park in Jackson - a huge new beautiful playground with tons of padded playground surfaces and brightly colored playground equipment. I really wish it wasn’t 100 degrees or we could have stayed and played all afternoon…however, it was pretty hot so our little ones […]
Dear Norah,You are one year old, and I am tired.
The note could end there, because literally you have kept me on my toes since you woke up this morning.
I sang “Happy Birthday” to you as I got you out of bed this morning. You clapped for me while I changed your diaper. The […]
At church this morning, our friend Jana (oh wait, there’s no link to her name because she DOESN’T blog) was talking about how her husband has been out of town and she and her boys were looking forward to our small group lunch that afternoon so that the boys could play and she could have […]
I was just trying to figure out where this week has gone - I can’t believe the weekend is here again. I guess going back through the photos from this week I see now exactly where it went - we played the days away! But that’s okay - that is what you’re supposed […]
On Monday night, our friends needed someone to watch their daughter while they attended classes to be eligible to adopt through foster care in the future. We were so happy to have Miss Rosa Grace over to play for a few hours.
She wasn’t too sure about things at first, but after Norah ate dinner […]
Our adoption story was written long ago, not by us but by our Creator. His plan to adopt us into His family through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ planted seeds in our hearts that came to life in June 2007 when we welcomed Norah into our family through a domestic adoption. Though the little details of this blog may be about our adoption story, we hope our thoughts and images might inspire you to look into the bigger picture of God's plan for your life - to adopt you into His family as one of His children.
